Frequently Asked Questions
When should I expect my wedding invitation?
If you have received a Save-the-Date email from us, expect your wedding invitation to arrive in your email inbox on March 3, 2025.
When is the RSVP deadline?
The RSVP deadline is on May 1, 2025 when the Guest List will officially be finalized and closed. However, we strongly encourage to submit your RSVP as soon as possible after you receive your email invite.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Please, check your wedding invitation for the amount of seats we reserved for you.
Are children invited?
Although we love your little ones, please note this will be an adults-only celebration. Thank you for your understanding!
What is weather typically like at the venue this time of year?
End of May in Newmarket area can be a bit unpredictable. It might be sunny, cloudy or rainy. It might be really warm or a bit chilly. One thing is for certain is that it won’t snow. The average temperature is 19°C / 8°C or 66°F / 46°F. Just this past May 31, 2024 had a temperature of 24°C / 8°C or 75°F / 46°F and sunny.
What should I wear?
Dress code is semi-formal. As an example, it would mean tie or bowtie with a vest or blazer, or a cocktail dress. We want our guests to feel confident and look good for the wedding photos, however, once the dancefloor opens up, feel free to get more comfortable.
What shoes are appropriate?
Keep in mind that the Bride & Groom will be wearing matching clean white sneakers. Feel free to wear any type of footwear you’d like, as long as they look clean and neat, but if you are planning on joining us on the dancefloor later on in the evening (which is where you’ll find us for most of the night), we would recommend you wear something comfortable, or at least bring something comfortable to switch into when you’re ready to join us on the dancefloor (we love to dance).
Will the wedding be held indoors or outdoors?
Both ceremony and reception will be held at the same venue indoors. During cocktail hour, if weather permits, we would prefer to take photos with each of our guests outdoors, right outside the venue, however, while waiting for your turn to take photos, you are free to check out the bar, the passed appetizers and enjoy the covered patio area at the venue. The venue also has a large garage-style door that will be open during the ceremony, and possibly later on in the night, if the dancefloor heats up the place, so it would be a good idea to bring a light jacket, sweater, or cardigan, if you usually run cold.
Will you be reserving a hotel block for people coming out of town?
No, but the two closest hotels we recommend out of town guests to stay at are The Postmark Hotel (5 min walk from venue) or the Best Western Voyageur Place Hotel (9 min drive from venue).
How do I get to and from the wedding venue?
If you are traveling from within the Greater Toronto Area, easiest way to get to and from the wedding venue is by car, whether that is driving yourself or calling an Uber/Lyft/Taxi. If you are traveling from Downtown Toronto, there are two options. First, you can grab a GO Train on the Barrie Line from Union Station to Newmarket Station (57 min) and then walk (17 min) or get a ride (5 min) to the venue. Second option would be to drive or order an Uber/Lyft/Taxi from Toronto to the venue in Newmarket (about 60 min or more, depending on traffic).
Whatever the case might be, please do not drink and drive, and plan accordingly! Thank you.Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there is free parking all around the venue area. The largest and closest parking lot is located along the one side street called Doug Duncan Dr near the community centre here (4 min walk). There is also another free parking lot that’s a bit smaller located across Main St, next to Botsford St here (5 min walk).
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Venue doors open at 4:00PM for guests. Ceremony will begin shortly after that.
Can I take photos with my phone?
Please, refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, however, feel free to take photos anytime before and after that. Thank you for your understanding!
Will there be an open bar?
Yes, we have a standard open bar: beer, wine, bar rail cocktails, (does not include shots or liqueurs).
What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
When RSVP-ing you will have the opportunity to let us know of any food allergies or dietary restrictions there.
